Seven deserving students received scholarships through the Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC) Bright Scholarship Program. This brings the total number of scholars supported to 13.

All scholars will receive comprehensive support—tuition and miscellaneous fees, monthly allowances, academic excellence incentives, including a mentoring program.

The new scholars are Keith Hae Moon Francisco, BS Education Major in Social Studies at West Visayas State University (WVSU); Marnelle Angeline Deysolong, BS Biology at Iloilo Science and Technology University; Shane Justin Liao, BS Nursing at Phinma University of Iloilo (UI); Marianne Kate Locson, BS Social Work at Central Philippine University (CPU); Jewel Heart Azuelo, BS Medical Laboratory Science at Iloilo Doctors College; Paulette Torrico, BS Accountancy at CPU; and Peter John Cezar, BS Biology at Northern Iloilo State University Main Estancia.

Meanwhile, highlighting the program’s success, two out of the three scholars from PCPC graduated magna cum laude, leading their batch in the 2023 academic year. The latest graduates are Pamela Manderico, BS Early Childhood Education from WVSU; Regine Ann Donesa, BS Accountancy, from CPU; and Reah Jane Solaber, BS Accountancy from Phinma UI.

Since the program started in 2016, 10 scholars have already graduated. PCPC’s Bright Scholarship Program is now in partnership with the Joy~Nostalg Foundation, to further the mission of helping children of low-income families to pursue their college education, especially those from its host communities in Iloilo.
