While the campaign against illegal drugs is still on top of Police Regional Office (PRO) 6’s agenda, running after wanted personalities remains a priority.

In fact, different police offices in Western Visayas scored 71 arrests in a single day (Feb. 5).

Eight of the 71 arrested are considered most wanted persons – one each in the regional and provincial levels and six in the city/municipal category.

The remaining 63 were lumped under the Other Wanted Persons (OWPs) category.

The Aklan Police Provincial Office made two of the 63 arrests while Antique PPO has five; Iloilo PPO with 12; Iloilo City PO with two; Bacolod City PO with a lone arrest while Negros Occidental PPO scored a whopping 40.

The Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 also contributed one arrest.

Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, Western Visayas police chief, said that the statistics speak about the PRO-6’s unwavering commitment to providing Western Visayas with the peace and security they rightfully deserve.

He also urged all PRO-6 personnel to continue their dedication to making Western Visayas a safer place for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

“Let us pursue to do more and perform our duties with excellence to ensure the safety and security of everyone within our area of responsibility, and delivering justice to the victims of crimes,” Villaflor said.
