8 busted for P237,000 worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Eight persons were arrested and P237,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by police here and in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Silay City, Joseph Tionko, 33, of Barangay Mambulac was arrested in a buy-bust at the said village yesterday, after police confiscated from him 11 grams of suspected shabu worth P165,000, drug paraphernalia, the P500 marked money, P4,000 boodle money, and P440 cash.

Also arrested that day in Barangay 5, San Carlos City was Flordeliz Agravante, 29, of the said village, after she allegedly yielded four sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, drug paraphernalia, the P300 marked money, and P120 cash.

In Manapla town, Jose Maria Jumamoy, 50, of Barangay 1 was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Purisima yesterday.

Police recovered from him five sachets of suspected shabu, and the P500 marked money. He is a street level target, police records showed.

In Sagay City, Antonio Palacios, 34, of Barangay Bato was arrested at the said village last Monday, after police seized from him four sachets of suspected shabu, and the P500 marked money.

In Bacolod City, Claudine Alianza, 27; Ged Weber, 18; PJ Hechanova, 27; and Gilberto Mallari, 26, all residents of Barangay 3 were arrested in a buy-bust at the said village last Monday.

Authorities confiscated from them four sachets of suspected shabu worth P60,000, the P200 marked money, P300 cash, and drug paraphernalia. All four suspects are detained at Police Station 2.
