BACOLOD City – A total of 830 beneficiaries from various barangays of E. B. Magalona, Negros Occidental received their wages from DSWD-Regional Office 6 under the Risk Resiliency Program -Cash-for-Work for Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation, and Disaster Risk Reduction, at the payout at the Public Plaza on Dec. 13, 2022.
Mayor Marvin Malacon addressed the beneficiaries, saying the various assistance that they have received is a result of the strong partnership between the local and national governments.
Leading the payout were DSWD-RO6 focal person Jane Hervilla, MSWDO social welfare officer Emy Lyn Hibionada, and MENRO-designate Jojo Vargas.
The beneficiaries belong to the indigent members of various sectors like fisherfolks, farmers, women, PWDs, and solo parents.
Under the CSW program, the beneficiaries rendered service for 10 days on Nov. 14 to 18 and Nov. 21 to 25, with a rate of P395 per day, or a total of P3,950.
Their work included tree-growing, bamboo-planting, mangrove propagules-planting, declogging of street drainages, and constructing materials recovery facilities (MRF).
