9 cops pass surprise drug test

The surprise drug test on nine Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) including provincial and city directors yielded negative results.

The drug test was conducted before the start of the 2nd Command Conference held at Madia-as Hall of Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado in Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.

This activity is part of the integrity enhancement strategy of Brigadier Gen. Sidney Villaflor, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 acting director.

It is also part of the 5-point Strategic Framework of PNP Chief Police General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.

Among the officers whose samples were taken and tested are the seven Provincial/City Directors and two other key officers of PRO6.

The drug test was conducted to determine the presence of Methamphetamine and THC-Metabolites in the specimens collected by the Regional Forensic Unit 6.

Villaflor said he is committed to making PRO-6 compliant with the provision of Republic Act 9165 for a drug-free workplace.

“My leadership is serious in the campaign against illegal drugs. I want to ensure that all my personnel are clear of any influence of illegal drugs. Let us continue to unite, serbisyong nagkakaisa laban sa droga.”
