TAEKWONDO coach Ben Latoza Capadosa assured of good hosting of various taekwondo tournaments in the region in 2019.
Capadosa was recently appointed as chairman of the Regional Management Committee (RMC) in Region VI-B of the Department of Education (DepEd) under the program of Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA).
The native of Brgy. Jayobo Lambunao, Iloilo was appointed during the National Instructors Assembly organized by PTA at the San Andres Sports Complex, Jan. 7.
Capadosa fell in love with taekwondo in 1996 after he was influenced by his father who is also a Martial Artist and 5th Dan blackbelt in judo and karate.
“It is our bread and butter before when we are in elementary until I became a professional. When I was in high school and college, I was recognized as sports awardee and after that, I continued my sport, as a player and as an instructor,” he added.
One of Capadosa’s highlights was winning the gold medal in Muju Seoul, South Korea (2008-2010). He became a sports specialist of Special Program in Sports of Lambunao National High School.
The 3rd Dan blackbelt holder is also a national accredited instructor and national accredited referee of the Philippine Team Contingent in 2008-2010 in the World Taekwondo Expo in Muju Seoul South Korea.
“Being the only Ilonggo who was included in the management committee of the Department of Education, my plan is to establish brilliant taekwondo officiating officials, to manage tournament not only in the region but to produce globally competitive DepEd officiating officials by means of recommending them to attend trainings in local and international officiating course,” he said.
Capadosa said they are now preparing for the National Officiating Accreditation and Refresher’s Course on Feb 23-25 in Iloilo City.
They will also host the Regional Officiating Course to all events on January 16-19 in Punta Villa Resort and Convention Center sponsored by DepEd.
Part of the course aims to discuss different taekwondo updates to all taekwondo instructors and DepEd officiating officials.
