BACOLOD City President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will arrive in Negros Occidental on March 8, 2019 to lead the Partido Demoratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan campaign rally at the Victorias City coliseum where a crowd of 50,000 is expected to attend.
Third District Rep. Alfredo Benitez said the coliseum has a capacity of 12,000 but a satellite stage will be set up in an open field outside the building to accommodate the crowd.
The rally will start at 2 p.m.
Expected to join the President are PDP-Labans five-man slate, dubbed MaBaGoKoTo, composed of Sen. Aquilino Koko Pimentel III, former Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald de la Rosa, former presidential aide Christopher Bong Go, Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu (Maguindanao, 2nd District), and former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino.
Also set to join the rally are guest candidates and re-electionist senators Sonny Angara, JV Ejercito, and Cynthia Villar, former Interior Secretary Rafael Alunan III, folk singer Freddie Aguilar, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos.
Duterte is also scheduled to distribute land to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Sagay City before taking a helicopter ride to Victorias City for the PDP-Laban rally, Benitez said.
Negros Occidental Govenor Alfredo Maranon Jr. is also expected to join the PDP-Laban political activity.
