ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division invites the public to experience the beauty and serenity the camp can offer.
Led by Major General Dinoh Dolina, the 3ID continues to work to make its camp an eco-tourism site.
With a number of waterfalls, firing range, swimming pool, and soon a nine-hole golf course which will be converted into an 18-hole golf course, the 3ID camp is expected to be a tourist destination.
The whole camp is a nature park, a wildlife sanctuary and has at least five waterfalls.
Presidential Adviser for the Visayas Sec. Michael Llyod L. Dino, during his visit at 3ID Camp in Jamindan, Capiz, June 17, was impressed of the beauty of the camp.
He lauded Dolina for “thinking outside the box” in developing the camp not just as a “military camp but as a tourism area.”
Dino, who is also the Peace and Development czar in the Visayas, has also vowed support to the move of the army here.
“Visayas is the tourism destination of every tourist. There are 1.2-million Korean visitors every year who are visiting Central and Western Visayas and who can also visit the 3ID camp,” he said.
Dolina said Dino was well-pleased to see Camp Peralta; the disciplined personnel and an orderly camp.
“He is very satisfied that the Army here is doing good not only in accomplishing its mission but also in the maintenance of the camp,” Dolina added.
Dino is among those top officials in the country who were fascinated by the beauty and serenity of the 3ID Camp.
Department of Environment and Natural Resources secretary Roy A. Cimatu, during his visit at Camp Peralta, was also impressed by the current vegetation and forest cover in the area, citing that “it could be the greenest Division in the country.”
Capiz Governor Antonio Del Rosario also lamented that the camp is “so enchantingly beautiful which can keep every visitor’s spirit at peace with the world.”
“We are developing this camp to be people-friendly, comfortable and enjoyable eco-tourist destination for free,” Dolina said. (PIA-Capiz)
