A DRUNKEN man was believed to have drowned in a river at Barangay Sta. Rosa in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The body of Ramcel John Porral, 30, also a resident of the said village, was found 9:30 a.m. of Aug. 25, 2019.
The victim’s father, 73-year-old Ramon, claimed he saw his son jump off a bridge around 9 a.m. of Aug. 24.
Ramon said his son was drunk when he allegedly jumped into the river.
But Police Major Marlon Valencia, Mandurriao police chief, said the incident was not reported to them.
Valencia said he was not aware if families or friends tried to locate Porral after he went missing upon jumping into the river.
People who knew Porral attested that he was fond of pranking friends.
They might have thought that it was just one of his practical jokes. But as it turned out, it was no joke after a resident saw the victim’s body around 100 meters from where he was last seen alive.
He suffered shallow lacerations on his back.
Porral’s family declined the autopsy on his body.
