TWO Davao City natives were arrested in a buy-bust operation late evening of Sept. 4, 2019 in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.
Leonell Daddie, 34, and Lemuel Bandayanan, were collared outside their rented place at Sitio Cagban Babaw, Barangay Manoc-Manoc, Boracay.
Police Major Jess Baylon, Malay police chief, said Daddie is a painter who also sells accessories like necklaces while Bandayanan works as a musician in the island.
Members of Malay Police Station, 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (PDEA-6) conducted the buy bust operation after reports that the two suspects have been selling marijuana to tourists.
During the conduct of the operation, Daddie and Bandayanan sold dried marijuana leaves placed in two ziplock plastics worth P1,100. Also taken from them were four glass pipes.
Baylon said Daddie was the subject of the operation.
In the middle of the transaction, he called Bandayanan who brought the marijuana to be sold to a police poseur-buyer.
Baylon said the duo is considered as newly-identified drug personalities.
Daddie allegedly told policemen that he sourced his supply from Davao but refused to bare any other information.
Daddie and Bandayanan are now detained and will be charged for Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
