BACOLOD CITY – Personnel of Police Station 1 arrested a former policeman in a buy-bust inside a pension house at Barangay 32 here Saturday, October 26.
Arrested was former Police Corporal Christian Ian Dingcong, 44, of Barangay Mansilingan, who was previously assigned at Police Station 2 here.
Police recovered from Dingcong 15 sachets of suspected shabu worth P70,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 1, said Dingcong was dismissed from police service in 2012 after he had gone Absent without official leave (Awol). He became part of the police organization in 1997.
Sedel said they placed Dingcong under surveillance for four months until they were able to corner him in a pension house.
“Ga saylo-saylo siya abi lugar,” he added.
Sedel said Dingcong also alleged that he used to work for a former town mayor in Panay area, but returned to Bacolod after the politician was defeated.
Dingcong is now detained at Police Station 1 and will be facing charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.
