BACOLOD City – After hiding for almost one year, the most wanted person of Quezon City was arrested at Barangay Puey, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Police Major Antonio Benitez Jr., city police chief, identified the suspect as 47-year-old Jolibert Garcia.

Benitez said they received a report that a person with an arrest warrant was hiding in the village.

Police then placed Garcia under surveillance for two months to check his identity as he kept moving from one place to another.

Ga saylo-saylo siya abi kag gakadto sa bukid kung ma sense niya na may ga monitor sa iya,” Benitez said.

After verifying his identity, they arrested Garcia at his relative’s house and served to him the arrest warrant for three counts of rape issued by Judge Cleto Villacorta III of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 226 in Quezon City last January 8, 2019.

The court did not allow Garcia to post bail.

Garcia is now in the custody of Sagay City Police Station and will be turned over to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) in Metro Manila.
