Ilonggos deliver medals in 2019 SEAG

With the 2019 Southeast Asian Games still in progress, the Ilonggo athletes have already turned heads by garnering medals in their respective sports.

Impressing in the SEAG so far, the Ilonggos not only fared well against the competition, but went on to win gold medals.

Edmar Tacuel, the pride of Tubungan, Iloilo, got the gold medal in Pencak Silat, an Indonesian fighting style.

Hailing from the province of Guimaras, Lea Denise Belgira also won gold in the Mountain Bike Downhill event.

Jessie Aligaga, Arnel Ron Mandal, Francisco Solis, all from Iloilo, won gold medals in the Men’s Wushu Sanda event.

Other fellow Ilonggos are still out there, battling to deliver a medal and help the country end their SEAG campaign on a positive note.

Ruel Catalan will try to banner the PH squad in the kickboxing event as one of the veterans and the leaders of the group.

Jovelyn “The Bionic Ilongga” Gonzaga and Abby Marañno, although losing their opener against Vietnam, will try to bounce back and deliver a win for the Filipino hopefuls.

Evalyn Palabrica will try to win and redeem her stint in the SEAG’s Javelin throw event after clinching bronze in the 29th SEAG.
