BACOLOD City – A 43-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay Okiot, Bais City, Negros Oriental yesterday, resulting in the confiscation of 300 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,040,000.
Arrested was Angelo Dy of the said village.
He is a street level target in the provincial level, according to a report from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo).
The operation against Dy was conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Branch of Norppo, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Bais City Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7.
Police recovered from him several sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, and P1,000 cash.
Dy is detained at Bais City Police Station for the filing of drug charges.
Meanwhile, 26 persons were arrested for the seizure of P286,600 worth of illegal drugs in 21 buy-bust operations here and in various areas in Negros Occidental in a span of nine days.
Nine individuals were collared in this city while 17 others were arrested in 11 areas of the province from November 25 to December 3.
For the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), P107,600 worth of suspected shabu were seized in the villages of 2, 26, 27, 28, Sum-ag, Mansilingan, Pahanocoy, Alijis, and Handumanan.
The operations here were conducted by Police Stations 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
For Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), confiscated amount of suspected shabu and suspected marijuana reached P179,000.
The operations were conducted at the cities of Victorias, Kabankalan, La Carlota, Cadiz, Sipalay, Silay, and Escalante, and the towns of Isabela, Valladolid, Don Salvador Benedicto, and Murcia.
The recent drug bust in Silay City last December 3 scored the biggest drug haul with P120,000 worth of suspected shabu.
