The West Visayas State University held its first taekwondo alumni homecoming held at Smallville 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.
Different batches of WVSU graduates comprised of ex-varsity athletes in taekwondo graced the event and made Dr. Richard Gabayoyo, their long-time coach, grateful and happy.
The first-assembly of the prized athletes was not only to rekindle their camaraderie or to reminisce about the past, but also to discuss the future of the WVSU taekwondo and Iloilo scene as well.
With the rising potential of the taekwondo athletes in the city, the gathering of the WVSU ex-jins tackled about the improvements needed and the things they want to pursue for the betterment of the sport.
Dr. Gabayoyo, WVSU’s coach since the early 2000s in the sport, expressed his excitement towards the plans discussed and said that 2020 will be a big year for taekwondo.
