After a disappointing 2019 for Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, the Filipino wushu master will try to kick-start his career on January 31, 2020 in the co-main event.
Up against Pieter “The Archangel” Buist of the Netherlands, Folayang’s flexibility will be put to the test against the tough striking of the Dutch.
Originally matched up against Ahmed “Wolverine” Mujtaba, an adept ground grappler, Folayang’s late training shift from ground to striking defense will be a key element in the fight.
With only two-weeks to prepare and overhaul their training from ground focused drills to striking drills, Folayang showed confidence with the adjustments he and his team made.
“This will test how good we truly are in adjusting, how flexible we are. I have an advantage when it comes to preparation time, but I know we’re all professionals so I know he’s training even without a scheduled bout.”
As the face of Team Lakay, Folayang will be expected to perform at his highest level and is the heavy favorite against Buist.
