After three years of hiatus, the Dinagyang Badminton Cup returns as one of the highlights of the country’s best tourism event.
Hundreds of shuttlers and badminton enthusiasts flocked to the Citi Sports Badminton Arena in Mandurriao, Iloilo City to participate and witness the prized sports event which aims to revive the badminton scene during the Dinagyang Festival.
In line with this, the Iloilo City Government headed by Mayor Jerry P. Treñas and the Iloilo City Sports Development Division assisted this year’s Dinagyang Cup host, Daily Guardian.
The tournament will feature two days of action-packed badminton from January 24-25 under several categories.
On the first day, the tournament featured seven categories – 12-Under Boys & Girls, 15-Under Boys & Girls, 18-Under Boys & Girls, and 50 and above.
On the last day, the tournament will feature levels B to E and the most anticipated of all, the open category, where badminton athletes from all over the Philippines will and try to bring home the bacon and big prizes.
