Passi City’s prestigious beauty pageant, the Bb. Pintados de Pasi 2020, and its world-famous annual cultural event, the Pintados de Pasi Festival which commemorates its 22nd cityhood anniversary, are happening once again to share exciting glimpses on what this progressive component city in the Province of Iloilo when it comes to its flourishing tourism industry has to offer globally.
Inspired by the “painted people” of Panay Island, Pintados de Pasi Festival was founded to show the rich culture of tattooing before the Spanish colonization of the island.
Tattoos often signify social status and symbol of bravery among the painted people of Panay in the past. Passi is also a progressive component city, where the biggest sugar industry in Panay is located and produces major agricultural products like the sweetest pineapple in the region.
The Passinhons also passionately love their own cultural heritage and are hospitable by nature to visitors, earning their city the moniker “The Sweet City in the Heart of Panay.”
Pintados de Pasi held every month of March is the city’s annual cultural festivity that showcases the very best of what the Passinhons has to offer.
Bb. Pintados de Pasi has become a venue for women empowerment, immersive community advocacy, and a showcase of Passinhon ladies’ heartfelt beauty. It will be officially launched on March 1, 4 p.m. at Robinsons Place Iloilo Fountain Area.
This year, 10 gorgeous candidates will compete for three prestigious crowns – Bb. Pintados Festival Queen 2020, Bb. Pintados de Pasi Culture 2020, and Bb. Pintados de Pasi Tourism 2020.
They will have their official sashing right after their casual wear, cocktail and swimsuit parade to be spearheaded by Passi City’s visionary Mayor Stephen Palmares and Bb. Pintados de Pasi executive producer Dr. Regil Palmares.

Bb. Pintados de Pasi 2020 Talents Night is on March 15, 7 p.m. at Plaza Paloma and Pageant Night on March 20 at City of Passi Arena.
