BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Henry Biñas, director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has directed all 10 station commanders to hold conferences with members of the tricycle drivers associations here.
This, after a tricycle driver allegedly raped a 15-year-old student in a sugarcane field last Wednesday.
The student flagged down the driver on her way to school when she was allegedly brought to a secluded area, where the alleged sexual molestation happened.
The victim alleged that the suspect was a colorum tricycle driver, a report which is still being investigated by the police.
Biñas said station commanders should hold regular conferences or meetings with the drivers as part of their preventive measures.
Biñas said it is important for policemen to have proper coordination with the drivers association in their respective areas to gather credible information.
He said they can also easily identify the members of the associations in case they receive reports for any violation.
He said they will also tap the barangay watchmen to help them in their patrolling especially during night time to prevent the recurrence of the incident.
He said they will check if there’s a copy of closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage in the area to identify the perpetrator.
