ICSDD halts Iloilo City Sports Academy and other sporting activities

Rudiver Jungco Sr., the executive assistant for Sports in Iloilo City, confirmed to the Daily Guardian that they are currently halting all sporting activities in the city, including their Iloilo City Sports Academy.

With the rise of COVID-19 cases not only in Metro Manila but also in other parts of the country, Jungco and the Iloilo City Sports Development Division (ICSDD) decided to suspend momentarily all their programs for the safety of everyone.

The suspension was also applied to their Sports Academy program, which caters more than hundreds of children in various sports which includes lawn tennis, taekwondo, futsal, boxing, volleyball, arnis, and many more.

It was also declared that classes will be suspended up to April 14, 2020 as part of the COVID-19 safety protocol by the Philippine government and is highly encouraged to stay at home and practice social distancing.

As of the moment, no announcement has been made from Jungco and his office when they will resume their sporting activities including the Sports Academy.
