BACOLOD City – Two persons were dead while five others were injured in two separate road accidents in two cities in Negros Occidental on Thursday.
In La Carlota City, 24-year-old Jefferson Amar died while his companion, Perlita Amar, 73, both residents of Barangay La Granja were injured after their motorcycle allegedly collided with another motorcycle along the corner of JM Basa -Mabini Street, Barangay 3 Poblacion.
Also wounded were Armando Amson, 55, and Arlene Amson, 23, both residents of Barangay La Granja.
The wounded victims were brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
In Himamaylan City, Christian Edquila, 13, died after he hit a cargo truck along Crossing Antolo, Barangay Su-ay.
Wounded were his female minor companions aged 12 and 14.
Investigation showed that a pedicab allegedly crossed the road and rammed into the rear part of the truck driven by Jovanie Tamesis, 41, of Cauayan town.
Edquila sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at a hospital while his two companions sustained minor injuries.
Tamesis voluntarily surrendered to the police.
