BACOLOD City – The Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde) has tapped the members of the Army Reserve Force to augment manpower in all quarantine border control points to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID)-2019 in Negros Occidental.
Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd IBde commander, said that a total of 150 Army reservists were deployed to ensure enough forces to support the Inter-Agency COVID 19 border monitoring and regulation task force of the province.
The reservists from the 605th Community Defense Center of Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) is one of the component of the Citizen Armed Force.
Its mission is to provide the base for the expansion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the event of war, invasion or rebellion, to assist in relief and rescue during disaster or calamities; to assist in socio economic development, and to assist in the operation and maintenance of essential government or private utilities in the furtherance of the overall mission.
Pasaporte said that serving the people is their mandated task. Hence, the 303rd IBde has its full support to the local government units (LGUs) in the fight against the viral disease, he added.
“We are calling every Negrense to do their part and cooperate in adhering to all guidelines and safety tips set forth by our health authorities and the LGUs to be one in our effort and fight against the COVID-19 threat,” he added.
