ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two persons who were caught in separate drug sting operations late last week were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Charged before the City Prosecutors Office (CPO) were Dharyl Antonino, 27, of Brgy. Milibili, and Elmer Durana, 35, of Brgy. Banica, here.
Antonino was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Friday afternoon.
Recovered from Antonino were 23 sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked, P1,000 fake money, a cellphone, and tricycle used in the transaction.
Durana was arrested in another drug buy-bust conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Roxas City PNP on Ellieta St., Barangay 2, here.
Recovered from the suspect were four sachets of suspected illegal drugs, P500 marked money, a cellphone, and pouch. The value of illegal drugs were estimated at P4,000.
Durana denied owning the illegal drugs claiming it was from another person whom he cannot identify.
But he admitted he was jailed in 2006 for illegal drug peddling and was released in 2011.
He said he went to Boracay where he was employed as a construction worker.
