The Iloilo City Government will be issuing new Home Quarantine Passes (HQP) amid the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the city due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas confirmed on Monday, April 6 that the city government will soon distribute new, uniform passes to the barangays.
The mayor also said on Monday that the new passes is in keeping with the directive of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) prompting local chief executives to come up with uniform HQP.
On Tuesday, April 7, the mayor assured residents that the existing HQPs previously issued by the barangays are still valid.
“Ginapa-ubrahan pa ina. Indi kamo magkabalaka, ang tanan nga quarantine pass nga gin-issue sa inyo nga barangay, that will be honored until such time when the city-issued quarantine pass will be released to all the barangays,” he said.
The HQPs are part of Executive No. 055-2020 issued on March 19, 2020, which effectively places Iloilo City under ECQ until April 14, 2020.
It is part of the city government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The HQPs allow one member of a household to leave their homes from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. to buy essential goods such as food, medicine, etc.
