The NBA tightened up its security measures against the COVID-19 pandemic by banning draft-eligible players from having workout sessions with teams or even posting workout videos online.
Part of the online workout ban is watching, requesting, and sharing videos online while the league is still on shutdown amid COVID-19.
Teams are only allowed to have interviews via phone call or video chat but with a limit of four hours per draftee. So far, that is the only way teams and draft hopefuls can communicate within league rules.
With a few players already having contracted the virus, Commissioner Adam Silver is carefully planning the next steps for the NBA with the health of the players and the personnel being his main priority.
Regarding the team scouting, the NBA said that they will not have the scouting opportunities they once did, with certain measures to be observed in line with the league’s COVID-19 defense.
The NBA draft is still scheduled on June 25, 2020 with no further announcements of moving the date due to the pandemic.
