BACOLOD City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Negros Occidental intercepted three residents of Bantayan, Cebu at Vito port in Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.
Commander Jansen Benjamin, PCG-Negros Occidental head, said they arrested a 56-year-old man and his two companions on board a motorized boat loaded with fermented fish.
Benjamin said they were supposed to deliver the fermented fish but because of the border closure due to COVID-19 crisis, they are not allowed to enter the area.
He also noted that they were not supposed to navigate at night time.
They were warned and were later allowed to sail back after undergoing health protocols, he said.
