BACOLOD City – Lt. Col.  Ariel Pico, Bacolod City Police Office spokesman, said Tuesday that they are baffled with the killings of alleged drug personalities in the city.

The latest victim is Gerald Cuadra, 43, who was gunned down by riding in tandem suspects Saturday in front of a restaurant here.

Cuadra is the son of convicted drug lord Jose Kim “Boy” Cuadra who is serving a life sentence for drug trafficking at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila.

Cuadra allegedly succeeded his father in the illegal drug trade.

He is the fifth drug personality who was killed by riding in tandem suspects since last year starting with self-confessed Berya drug group bagman Ricky Serenio in September 2019.

This was followed by businessman Kaishek Tan, former police officer Eric Alcosaba, and former basketball player and village chief Maui Huelar.

All cases were daylight killings committed by motorcycle-riding suspects.

Pico said investigation on the cases is still ongoing.

He added that the drug angle is just one of the motives being eyed though.

“We have limited evidence,” Pico lamented.
