After three days spent in a local hospital, NBA hall of famer Patrick Ewing has been released and is recovering from COVID-19, said his son, Patrick Ewing Jr.
The Georgetown athletic department first announced Ewing’s condition with the New York Knicks legend later tweeting that he was confined after testing positive for the virus.
“My father is now home and getting better. We’ll continue to watch his symptoms and follow the CDC guidelines. I hope everyone continues to stay safe and protect yourselves and your loved ones,” said Ewing Jr.
Ewing Jr. added that his father wants to extend his biggest thanks to the doctors and nurses who took care of him, the fans, and everyone who prayed for him.
The 57-year-old member of the 1992 Olympic Dream Team is currently the chief tactician of the Georgetown Hoyas.
