Gabriel Lloyd Jalbuna, mentored and supervised by coach Flora Navales under the A. Diasnes gym in Iloilo City, nabbed the gold medal in the male yellow belt 9-11 category in the 2020 SMART/MVP Sports Foundation National Online Poomsae Taekwondo Championship.
Competing against the best yellow belts in the entire Philippines, Jalbuna was able to prevail and defy all odds with his splendid poomsae performance, racking up a score of 7.200 on his way to a gold finish.
Several Ilonggo jins also garnered medals namely Raphy Seneres, who bagged the bronze in the same category with Jalbuna.
Ma. Glaiza Fae Molavizar Cordero, representing the Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) gym and mentored and coached by Mr. Pinggol, got bronze in the black belt female grade school category.
Klyza Chin from the Diasnes gym nabbed the silver medal in the red belt female 9 and below, Hannah Margarette Dello got bronze in red belt female 10-11, Kasimira Therese Consular got silver in the red female cadet, Diana Ashley Dello had bronze in the same category, Audric Zachariah Balsomo got bronze in the red male junior, Almar Diasnes got silver in the red/brown male senior, Elizabeth Marie Borres had bronze in the black female cadet, all representing the Diasnes gym.
Meanwhile, Shanen Anica Santos Feranco from the Iloilo MVP gym got silver in the red female junior, Cyd Edryc Esmana got silver in the black male cadet, and Clyde Anthony Chua got bronze in the same category, both representing the MVP gym.
