The New Zealand National Basketball League will soon witness Far Eastern University’s Ken Tuffin swipe balls from passing lanes and knock down wide-open treys.
FEU’s current team captain has just been drafted by the big league in New Zealand and the 6’4’’ swingman is at a loss for words after getting called at the 44th spot.
Before entering the draft, Tuffin first consulted his decision with the FEU sports department and Tamaraws head coach Olsen Racela where he received overwhelming support.
“I’ve got the full support of athletic director Mark Molina and head coach Olsen Racela. I talked to them both before putting my name in the draft and they were very positive,” Tuffin shared.
However, with UAAP’s future still unsure for next season amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Tuffin said that if FEU will need his services again, he will fly back to the Philippines and suit up for his final playing year.
“Whenever FEU wants me to return to campus for training, I will fly back to the Philippines. For the moment, I’m going to play in the NBL, but with every intention of returning to FEU,” he said.
