A health worker and an immunocompromised senior citizen are included in the latest batch of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the region, the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Western Visayas (DOH-CHD-6) reported on July 7, 2020.
The health worker is a 32-year-old female (WV Patient No. 390) from San Joaquin, Iloilo who was in close contact with two Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) from the same town (WV Patient Nos. 339 and 340).
She is currently under facility-based quarantine.
The other case, a 74-year-old female from City Proper, Iloilo City, is an immunocompromised patient.
She is currently under home quarantine, and contact tracing is being conducted.
The two cases are considered local transmissions.
Six new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported on July 7, with the four other cases being repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs):
– 55-year-old male from Alimodian, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 391);
– 34-year-old male from Calinog, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 392);
– 26-year-old female from Passi City, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 393); and
– 26-year-old female from Janiuay, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 395).
All OFWs are under facility-based quarantine.
No new recoveries were reported.
A total of 393 test results were released, with 385 yielding negative results.
As of July 7, Western Visayas has had 395 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 232 active cases, 152 recoveries, and 11 deaths.
