Cartons of canned goods have been donated by MORE Power and KEPCO-Salcon Power Corporation for the displaced residents of Barangay Bo. Obrero, Lapuz District, following the oil spill spawned by the explosion in one of the four tanks of AC Energy’s Power Barge No. 102.
As of this writing, officials from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported that at least 105 families with 378 persons had been affected by the freak accident which drove them away from their houses due to the spilled bunker fuel.
The humanitarian act is part of MORE Power and KEPCO–SPC’s support to the people of Iloilo City incorporated in its Corporate Social Responsibility especially in times of disaster or calamities.
The goods were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
