The saying is true, sports is everywhere.
After Chooks-to-Go Manok ng Bayan ambassador Kobe Paras of the UP Fighting Maroons saw a viral nurse that helped deliver the baby of 31-year-old Jeca Mae Rausa on the sidewalk, he immediately contacted the office of Bounty Agro Ventures Inc. (BAVI) with a plan of recognizing the heroic act of nurse Lorraine Pingol.
“I was browsing the internet when I saw what happened on Facebook. It inspired me since it was Lorraine’s day-off, her vocation did not stop. I immediately looked for a way to connect her and Bounty,” said Paras.
With no hesitation, the BAVI management immediately approved Paras’ proposal and decided to reward Pingol with cash incentive and a one-year supply of Chooks-to-Go chicken.
Pingol went viral on social media after helping Rausa, who was about to give birth to her child right at the moment.
The nearest hospital is kilometers away from their current location so Pingol thought it would be harder for Rausa to travel given her condition.
“For me, I just did what I had to do as a nurse. Mas marami pang tao na deserving na tawaging bayani like our policemen and soldiers. And those medical frontliners who are working in the hospital attending to COVID patients,” Pingol said.
