4-day drug haul yields P498,850 worth of ‘shabu’, 12 nabbed

BACOLOD City – Twelve persons were arrested while P498,850 worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Occidental from Sept 1 to 4, 2020.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – 6 Special Enforcement Team made the biggest drug haul in the past four days, with the recovery of 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, from Alexander Cordova at Barangay Mandalagan here last Wednesday.

For the province, a drug bust was also conducted in Escalante City resulting in the confiscation of P750 worth of suspected shabu.

The following day, the same operations were conducted in the cities of La Carlota, Cadiz, Bago, Kabankalan, and the town of Manapla. Six individuals were arrested in these areas.

Last Thursday, policemen also busted Roderick Chavez, 38, of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, after he allegedly yielded seven grams of suspected shabu worth P47,600 in a drug bust at Barangay 2.

Also arrested that day in Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City were Jasson Villanueva, 22; Lendon Mahinay, 19; and Cris Mark Tiña, 21, all residents of the said village.

Police seized from them five grams of suspected shabu worth P85,000, the P500 marked money, four lighters, a pair of scissors, and a notebook.

Drug charges are being readied against all the 12 arrested suspects.
