The village chief of Arguelles, Jaro, Iloilo City apologized for allowing a resident to tap to the power line of their tanod (watchmen) outpost.
Punong Barangay Eleodoro Ledesma made the apology after personnel of distribution firm MORE Power caught him cutting the illegal connection to the outpost on Friday.
Ledesma said a household asked permission on Thursday to tap to the tanod outpost after MORE Power disconnected their lines.
The family, which already applied for a legitimate connection but has yet to be approved, asked that they will tap for one night only which the village chief allowed.
Ledesma was disconnecting the wires when MORE Personnel arrived and apprehended him.
The village chief is still in the custody of the Jaro police as he has yet to post bail.
