PSA celebrates 7th anniversary

The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI) employees and staff celebrated the 7th Anniversary on September 12, 2020, with the theme “PSA Embracing New Normal in the 4IR”.

The program was attended virtually by all employees via Webex.

National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Claire Dennis S. Mapa delivered his Anniversary Message regarding the direction of PSA, the implementation of the National Identification System, and the conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Winners of the 2019 PSA Awards were announced in the various   categories such as top five performing regions, top fifteen provinces, and most improved province.

After the virtual program, activities such as tree planting, gift-giving and clean up drive was conducted, headed by PSA RSSO VI Officer-in-Charge Marlene Y. Alviar.

The tree planting held at Datu Sumakwel Farm Brgy. Igpuro, Miagao, Iloilo was in partnership with Municipal Environment and Natural Office (MENRO), who provided the Cacao seedlings.

The gift- giving was also conducted in the home for the aged Balay Puloy-an ni Maria, sisters of Charity of St. Anne. This corporate social responsibility is a timely activity to show compassion and care to our elderly and gave their basic needs during this pandemic.

OIC Marlene Y. Alviar, CRASD Chief, William G. Jaro and OIC, SOCD Chief, Ma. Goretti M. Novilla in a courtesy call to the head of the home for the aged and turn over the gifts to the elderly.

Alviar  also made a courtesy call to the Punong Barangay and provided face mask and face shield for the protection of her constituents to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

A beach clean-up was also conducted at barangay Baybay Sur, Miagao, Iloilo together with the CRASD Chief, William G. Jaro, to promote environmental awareness.

Barangay Captain Gil Liboon thanked the PSA for conducting such activity and for choosing their barangay as a benefactor of the activity.

To end the celebration, a Tai Chi breathing exercises were participated by the employees to relieve stress after performing various social responsibility and environmental awareness program.
