This is in response to the letter of Ms. Julie L. Po in Inquirer regarding NTF-ELCAC dated October 28, 2020.
I respect her opinion on this matter, however I would also like to express my view regarding the NTF-ELCAC.
First of all, NTF-ELCAC does not just red-tag anyone without basis. Some former members of the red-tagged organizations were now members of NPA my great example is Rona Jane Manalo who was recently killed together with Salvador Luminoso (NPA Leader in Palawan) and Ka Celnon (Platoon Leader) in an encounter in Brookes Point Palawan last month, she was a former Secretary General of Gabriela Southern Tagalog so what was she even doing there with these armed men?
Now about Liza Soberano’s red-tag issue, Parlade did not red-tag Liza and Catriona, what he was saying was that Gabriela is a leftist organization that never denounces the atrocities of the NPA. It is very clear that Gabriela is just using them, taking advantage of their popularity so they can recruit and seek legitimacy to their advocacy.
Let us not compare the situation now from before, they are nothing like Dr. Jose Rizal or Andres Bonifacio. These people are not fighting for our freedom. They are fighting for communism, idolizing communism, did you really think that communism is better and nice? Think again.
It is not being quiet, oppression or and bahala na. If you really want to change the system then do it in a legal manner, avoid the legal front communist partylist. Violence and communism is not the answer.
And for her last paragraph, I say no, these kinds of people are not real and righteous, they are selfish and pro-communist that poison the mind of people who seek REAL justice and advocacy. They did not even denounce the atrocities of the NPA who killed and fooled thousands of innocent civilians. This is what NTF-ELCAC is for, NTF-ELCAC is not useless, it seeks to address these people.
With all due respect ma’am, but I think you’re defending the wrong people here.
Sincerely,
Loela Rose Magbanua
