Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Western Visayas is now at 17,173 as of Nov. 3, 2020, according to the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development’s (DOH-WV CHD).
Bacolod City still tops the list of total number of cases with 4,856, followed by Negros Occidental with 4,799, Iloilo City with 4,072, Iloilo province with 2,147, Capiz with 894, Guimaras with 175, Aklan wth 157, and Antique with 73.
DOH-WV CHD also reported Tuesday 184 new cases which include 176 local cases, 4 Locally-Stranded Individuals (LSI), 2 Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF), and 2 Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR).
Negros Occidental reported the most number of new local cases with 69, followed by Iloilo province with 43, Bacolod City with 24, Iloilo City with 21, Guimaras with 3, and Aklan with 1.
The four new LSI cases are composed of a 23-year-old female from Bacolod City (WV 17003), a 77-year-old male (WV 17125) and a 24-year-old male (WV 17126), both from Tubungan, Iloilo, and a 21-year-old from Maayon, Capiz (WV 17149).
Two new APOR cases in the region include a 21-year-old male (WV 17042) and a 24-year-old male (WV 17043), who are both from Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
The new ROF cases are of a 26-year-old female from Lambunao, Iloilo (WV 17124), and a 41-year-old male from Dumalag, Capiz (WV 17153).
To date, Western Visayas still has 3,052 active COVID-19 cases based on the DOH-WV CHD’s data.
These include 1,515 in Negros Occidental, 555 in Iloilo City, 546 in Iloilo province, 278 in Bacolod City, 128 in Capiz, 13 in Guimaras, 11 in Aklan, and 6 in Antique.
Meanwhile, 160 new COVID-19 recoveries were also reported, with Negros Occidental also having the most recoveries with 69, followed by Bacolod City with 45, Capiz with 23, Iloilo with 15, and Aklan with 8.
The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the region is now at 13,716.
Also, 15 new COVID-19 deaths were reported on Tuesday – 7 in Bacolod City, 3 in Negros Occidental, 2 each in Iloilo City and Iloilo province, and 1 in Aklan.
One of the new deaths, a 74-year-old male from Kalibo, Aklan (WV 17020), was also one of the new cases reported yesterday.
The total COVID-19 mortality tally in Western Visayas is now at 405.
