James De Los Santos pulled-off a Jordan-like performance after clinching another virtual kata gold medal despite not feeling well in the championship round.
The intense final round showdown he had against nemesis Alfredo Bustamante fueled him to remain in his A-game and dominate the SportsData E-Kata World Series with a victory in the Golden League Karata eTournament #3.
“I admit I was feeling under the weather during this Finals, but I still performed and ended with my 23rd gold,” said the world no.1 virtual kata athlete.
As usual, De Los Santos’ path to the finals wasn’t easy after mainstay Matias Moreno-Domont of Switzerland attempted to edge him in the semifinals.
Bustamante was in good position of getting the better of De Los Santos in the last and final round but De Los Santos’ spectacular ending performance allowed him to end the match with a 25.7-24.3 score.
De Los Santos was fresh off a dominant back-to-back gold medal outing during the Okinawa eTournament World Series #2 and the Nox Dojo Markham City Open eTournament.
