The sample business establishments were pre-identified in five municipalities of the province: 10 in Jordan, five in Nueva Valencia, seven in Buenavista; and one each in San Lorenzo and Sibunag.

“The 2019 ASPBI aims to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance and trends of economic activities of the formal sector of the economy for the year 2019,” Provincial Statistical Officer Nelida B. Losare said.

Losare also said that the ASPBI has a rider form on the 2019 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT) which aims to collect and generate information on the availability, distribution, and access/utilization of ICT among establishments in the country.

“The measurement of ICT access and use will enable the assessment and monitoring of the digital divice in the country, likewise, the survey will generate core ICT indicators important for measuring the progress in information and communication technology,” she explained,

Data gathered from the establishments will be used as inputs to the quarterly computation of the national accounts and to the annual estimation of the regional accounts which measures the economic performance of the country and of the region, thus, provision of truthful data by the sample establishments played a very important role as it will depict the true picture of our economy, Losare added.

PSA is urging for the support and cooperation of the sample establishments for the attainment of the objectives of the 2019 ASPBI survey.
