Roxas City only has seven active cases of COVID-19 after three more persons recovered from the disease as of Tuesday.
The only recorded one new case, which, according to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, is a good indication as the city is curbing the spread of the virus.
“This is a good indication that we are gradually controlling the infection. But the battle is not over as the World Health Organization reported a new COVID strain that is more contagious. This requires more caution on our part,” Dadivas said.
As the New Year’s Eve celebration nears, Dadivas advised Roxas City residents to be more careful by observing health protocols.
“Let us not be complacent. In greeting the New Year, let us not forget the minimum health standards we implement. Let us be cautious so that we will greet the New Year with our family in the pink of health,” he added.
The confirmed case (Case # 633) is a 4-year-old boy from Datiles St. Brgy. Tanque.
The recoveries are:
Case # 588: 21-year-old female from Brgy. Lanot;
Case # 589: 3-year-old girl also from Brgy. Lanot; and
Case # 590: 27-year-old make from Lanot.
So far, the city has tallied 590 recoveries and 36 deaths out of the 633 confirmed cases.
