A 38-year-old Capiz native was arrested for allegedly killing his own father.

Police collared Junius Fiolog Jr., a resident of Barabgay Dayao, Roxas City, Capiz, at Barangay D. G. Abordo, Janiuay, Iloilo around 10:30AM of January 5, 2021.

Members of Roxas City Police Station and Janiuay Police Station apprehended Fiolog for parricide in Criminal Case No. C-338-20. Roxas City Regional Trial Court Branch 19 Judge Esperanza Isabel Poco-Deslate issued the arrest warrant against the suspect on Dec 10, 2020. He was not allowed to post bail.

Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Jr., Roxas City police chief, said Fiolog was allegedly high on drugs when he attacked his father early last year. He also underwent rehabilitation in Iloilo before the incident.

Based on reports, Fiolog was allegedly summoned to buy food but he unceremoniously barged into the house of their neighbor. This prompted his father to get him out of the house. But the suspect resisted and dragged his father back to their house. He then struck the victim until the latter died.

After the incident, he sought refuge with their relatives in Janiuay town where he was eventually arrested.
