Who would have thought that one of the most silent and down to earth PBA superstars will be the talk of the town after reports came out that he insisted on a trade and wants to get out of his team?

Alaska Aces’ superstar swingman Vic Manuel announced that he is open to playing for other teams after telling his agent, Danny Espiritu, to have a closer look at his contract and explore all possibilities.

In an interview with Spin.ph, Manuel confirmed that no one from Alaska came up to him and discussed his future with the team, except that Alaska tasked Espiritu to offer Manuel the same one-year deal like his previous contract.

Alaska head coach Jeff Cariaso confirmed that he already met with Manuel and said that he was their main priority during the offseason. He even said that the Alaska management offered Manuel a two-year max deal with a clause for the second year, not only a one-year deal.

“Vic and I left the meeting with an understanding on what possibilities the future may hold. I will keep the details private to maintain respect,” said Cariaso.

Cariaso added that on December 26, the Alaska management came up to him five days before his contract expired and followed it up through his agent Espiritu.

Manuel is yet to confirm these statements whether the Alaska management arranged things with him but the swingman said he did not receive any meetings with them after the PBA bubble.

“Kung ganon lang ang gagawin, aalis na lang ako sa kanila. Sana i-trade na lang ako,” shared Manuel with Spin.ph.
