TNT Tropang Giga’s Jayson Castro had successful knee surgery to remove the bone spurs that kept on bugging him during the PBA Philippine Cup.

TNT resident physical therapist Dexter Aseron confirmed that Castro’s knee surgery was finished but he will undergo another operation in the other knee.

“Next week yung other knee naman kasi hindi puwedeng sabay. Minor procedure lang siya so uwi rin agad. Babalik na lang siya ulit next week,” Aseron said.

During the bubble edition of the PBA, Castro admitted that he wasn’t at 100% and missed several games due to the bone spurs in his knees.

Despite the pain, Castro was still able to contribute to the Tropang Giga and helped them reach the Philippine Cup Finals but lost to Ginebra San Miguel.

The exact timetable is yet to be determined for Castro and it is still uncertain whether he can join the team soon as the next conference will begin.

Castro’s absence will be crucial for the Tropang Giga and the young superstars should step up with the likes of Bobby Ray Parks Jr., RR Pogoy, and Poy Erram.
