ROXAS CITY, Capiz – One of the two suspects who allegedly stabbed dead a village chief last December 13, 2020, was released from detention after the City Prosecutor’s Office found no probable cause to include him in the murder and frustrated homicide charges.
Joseph Jamora of Iloilo province was released from the Roxas City Police Station on the order of Assistant City Prosecutor Babette Bolido.
But Jamora’s fellow suspect, Virgilio Vigor, also of Iloilo province, remains in detention.
Vigor was the principal suspect in the death of Fuentes.
The two were accused of stabbing to death Punong Brgy. Ruben “Godo” Fuentes of Barangay. III, Roxas City outside a videoke bar on Mckinley street here.
The suspects were arrested by the police shortly after the incident.
Fuentes has been the village chief of Brgy. 3 from December 1, 2013 to December 12, 2020.
