BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed his trust and confidence in the Negros Occidental police saying that sound coordination and relations between the police, local government units (LGUs) and the public is imperative in governance.

Lacson related the message when Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director, and chiefs of police in the province, paid the traditional New Year’s call on Lacson at the Provincial Capitol Thursday.

Lacson said that when the pandemic happened, “both the powerful and the less powerful ones were just as disconcerted and all were faced with an unprecedented challenge which encompassed both health and non-health implications; and the government had to act at once, and together with the health workers, the PNP was urgently called and the PNP heeded the call bravely.”

“Please know that your selfless service as frontliners, which at times were rendered beyond the limits of endurance, is deeply admired and appreciated. And for our men and women in uniform whom we lost in this war against the COVID-19 virus, may we honor their sacrifice with our continued courage and service up to the day that humanity will be free again,” the governor said.

Also present in the activity were Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilfredo Abordo, NOCPPO Deputy Provincial Director for Administration; and Police Lieutenant Colonel Leonardo Borromeo, Deputy Provincial Director for Operation.
