ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Senator Francis Tolentino has recently approved the funds requested by Governor Esteban Evan Contreras for the establishment of the Capiz Cultural and Sports Center.
In a letter to Contreras, Tolentino said the amount could help the cultural and sports development program of the province of Capiz.
“I believe that it is the right time to start the construction of the said projects despite of the pandemic we are experiencing as this will give job opportunities and invite tourists to visit Capiz,” Contreras said.
The sports and cultural center will be put up inside the Villareal Stadium.
It can be recalled that some Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Board Members were worried where to get funding for the Capiz Cultural and Sports Center and the Capiz Convention and Evacuation Center.
Contreras said he was also elated that the national government allocated PHP100-million for the completion of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) in Brgy. Lanot here and PHP250-million for the construction of 5,000-seat Multipurpose Evacuation and Convention Center to be established at the two-hectare lot donation of Pueblo de Panay.
