BACOLOD City – A man died while his two companions were injured after they figured in an accident at Barangay Tinongan, Isabela, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Staff Sergeant Gilbert Gentugao, traffic investigator, identified the fatality as John Rey Atones, 23, of Barangay San Agustin.
Wounded were Andrien Sumo, 26, and a 15-year-old boy, whose name was withheld, both residents of Barangay San Agustin, according to Gentugao.
Gentugao said the three victims were on their way to the town proper when Atones, who was driving the motorcycle hit a steel post at the roadside.
Gentugao said Atones and Sumo reportedly came from a drinking session after they got their salaries that day.
“Naghagaray sila na malagaw,” he added.
He said Atones was speeding when it passed by the curve portion of the road reported to be an accident prone area.
All three of them had no helmets, he added.
Atones was declared dead at a hospital due to head injuries, while two others sustained minor injuries.
“Grabe ang impact kay dasig ang dalagan ka motor, wala na control sang driver pag agi sa kurbada,” the traffic investigator said.
