The Police Regional Office – 6 (PRO-6) celebrated the 30th PNP Foundation Day Celebration at Camp Delgado on February 1.
Attorney Joseph S. Celis, Regional Director of National Police Commission 6, was the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
The program started with a wreath laying in honor of the PRO-6 fallen heroes at the Heroes’ Wall.
Joining Atty. Celis in the wreath laying ceremony was Police Brigadier General Patrick T. Villacorte, PRO6 Deputy Regional Director for Administration, and Mrs. Ma. Ailyn C. Campos, the widow of a fallen officer.
The wreath laying was followed by a Flag Raising and Awarding Ceremonies.
In his speech, Atty. Celiz acknowledged the awardees for risking their lives in the performance of their duties and functions as police officers.
He likewise reminded the personnel to never forget the value of integrity and honor.
“Serve the people with heart, never be tempted by material things,” Celiz said.
During the celebration, the command awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan to the following: PLTCOL Nazer P. Canja, PSSg John Daniel N. Gotera., PCPl Eric Lopez L. of Toboso Municipal Police Station for arresting Roberto A. Pandacan for the crime of Murder and Frustrated Murder on January 14, 2021 at Brgy. San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Rene G. Obregon Jr, PEMS Rex K. Tabuada and PSSG Jan Mikel P. Mahometano of the Special Operation Unit and Iloilo City Police Station 2 during the conduct of Anti-Illegal Gambling Operation which resulted in the arrest Melbert Ariete and 31 others and the recovery of bet money amounting to PHP326,216 and billiard accessories on January 15, 2021 at Brgy. Burgos, Lapaz, Iloilo City.
Police Captain Paul Vincent M. Pendon, PSSg Frederick D. Fronda, and PCPl Jessmar T. Iwarata of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit for a successful buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of Robert L. Colinco and Richard R. Briones and the recovery of eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing 24.822 grams, PHP500 marked money and a .22-caliber revolver and other drug paraphernalia on December 11, 2020 at Purok Pepsi, Zone 3, Brgy Bata, Bacolod City.
PLt Larry John A. Vidal, PSSg Junest F. Suatin and PCPl Arjerey D. Valencia of Oton Municipal Police Station for the buy-bust operation which resulted in the arrest of Elmer S Niquia and the recovery of eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing 199.734 grams, to PHP20,000 marked and other drug paraphernalia on January 21, 2021 at Botda Village, Brgy Buray, Oton, Iloilo.
During the program one of the awardees, Police Captain Paul Vincent M Pendon, proposed marriage to his longtime girlfriend, Hazel Joy G Grate.
This year’s PNP Foundation Day theme is “PNP @30 Kakampi mo Laban sa Pandemya, Iligal na Droga, Kurapsyon at Terorismo.
