National Sports Association (NSA) accredited volleyball body Philippine National Volleyball Federation just mapped out their incoming plans for the future of the sport in the country.

Head honcho Tats Suzara, who was elected as president a few weeks ago, said he aims to create a unified volleyball league that will feature all the talented teams vying for just one title.

“This is part of the unification to have a national league where you have the top teams all over the country participating. It can be professional, semi-professional, or a commercial league,” said Suzara.

Currently, the Philippines have the Premier Volleyball League (professional) and the Philippine Superliga (PSL) which is the commercial league of the country for the women’s division.

Also, in the outdoor category, beach volleyball leagues organized by the PSL and the Beach Volleyball Republic have already been established and are serving as playing grounds for outdoor enthusiasts.

On the other hand, for the men’s division, the lone Spiker’s Turf league is just waiting to get back into action amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“My objective here is to have a working board that will serve all the stakeholders. All the stakeholders should participate in all the commissions and be involved. Our slogan is to serve everyone,” added Suzara.
